Mae Strategaeth Gymunedol Gwynedd yn cael ei chyflwyno i Wynedd gyda'r bwriad o greu gwell ansawdd i fywyd pobl Gwynedd nawr ac yn y dyfodol.

Mae'r broses o ddatblygu'r Strategaeth yn ffordd newydd o weithio. Mae'n dod â’r cyhoedd, sefydliadau gwirfoddol a chymunedol yn ogystal â'r sector fusnes a'r cyhoedd ehangach ynghyd i weithio tuag at ddatblygu cynllun effeithiol a fydd yn cwrdd ag anghenion pobl a chymunedau Gwynedd.
Mae diogelwch cymunedol yn ymddangos yn amlwg yn eu thema 'Annog Cymunedau Byw a Diogel'.

In 2005, your Community Safety Partnership agreed to reduce crime by 15.8% by 31st March 2008. This was a very demanding target and therefore it is with great pleasure that I write to advise you that not only did you attain that target but actually reduced your recorded BCS comparator crime by 23.2%.
This is an outstanding achievement and one the Partnership should be very proud of. This foundation of crime reduction provides you with an excellent base to deliver the crime PSAs for 2008-11.
We appreciate the very good working relationships that we have with your partnership and look forward to providing continuing support as together we work towards consolidating the gains of the past 4 years.

Gwynedd Council’s Community Safety Partnership has received a glowing review by the Home Office for the work it has undertaken as a part of its three-year crime reduction plan.

The partnership has been in existence for 10 years and works to develop and deliver strategies to tackle community safety issues including drug and alcohol misuse.

It is made up of various agencies including Gwynedd Council, North Wales Police, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, the Probation Service, Local Health Board and many others.

Tim Nunn, a member of the Home Office crime team in Wales who works in partnership with the Welsh Assembly Government said: “The Gwynedd Partnership has not only achieved the crime reduction targets set by the Home Office, but has in fact far exceeded them. In Gwynedd you have also clearly laid down strong partnership foundation for developing the next three-year strategy, and you are to be congratulated on your achievements.”

Following its recent success, the partnership is now looking to the future, and how it will work to ensure that Gwynedd is a safe place to live, work and visit. As part of the process, it will be consulting with the local community to find out what they want from the partnership in the coming years. During September, three public meeting will be held around the county, where members of the public will have the opportunity to discuss issues with partnership members.

Dafydd Lewis, Gwynedd Council’s strategic director of care, and chair of the Gwynedd Community Safety Partnership, added “Much has been achieved by the partnership over the last three years, and we look forward to developing that progress further. We will be working to ensure that the partnership can respond to the needs of the local community, and what matters they want to see developed in relation to community safety. I would encourage members of the public to attend the partnership’s public meetings, details of which will be announced soon.
